Probably the most memorable of all sporting events in 1980 was the Olympic games, and especially the U.S. Hockey Team's unlikely victory over the Soviet Union. Known as the "Miracle on Ice." is was a fitting prelude to the ultimate fall of the Soviet domination and fueled by Cold War patriotism.
